Demolition contractors in Cincinnati for five kinds of removal work
Residential demolition is not one job. Taking a whole house off a lot, pulling a rusted carport out of a backyard and gutting a kitchen to the studs call for different equipment, different permits and different cleanup. The pages below break the work into five types so you can read about the one that matches your project.
Pick the page that matches what has to go
Each service page walks through how that particular job is done in this region, what affects the price, and what to look for in a proposal. If your project mixes two types, such as a house teardown that also takes out an old in-ground pool, read both.
House Demolition
The whole building goes, along with the prep work before it and the fill and grading after it.
Garage and Shed Demolition
Outbuildings in the backyard, from a leaning one-car garage to a deck that has gone soft.
Pool Removal
A pool you no longer want, either collapsed and buried in place or pulled out completely.
Interior Demolition
Rooms stripped back to framing and block while the rest of the house stays standing.
Concrete Removal
Worn-out flatwork broken up and carted off so new pavement or a lawn can take its place.
Things every type of job has in common
No matter the size, a few questions come up on almost every removal. Is anything hazardous in the material, such as asbestos in old tile or lead in old paint? Are there gas lines, wiring or plumbing that need to be made safe first? Will the city or township want a permit? A contractor answers those during the site visit, and the answers shape the price far more than the square footage alone.
Debris handling is shared ground too. Concrete and masonry are often crushed for reuse, metal goes for scrap, and the rest is hauled to a landfill or transfer station. Ask any contractor how they sort and where the loads go.
Not sure which category fits? Describe the job on the contact page and include a few photos. You can also check which communities are covered on the service areas page.
